Interleukin-2 belongs to the group of cytokines which are bioactive proteins important in cell signaling.
This rhIL-2 has a Molecular Weight of about 17 kDa and consists of a mixture of three protein isoforms (glycosylated tetrasaccharide, glycosylatedtrisaccharide and a non-glycosylated isoform).
The mixed composition strongly resembles the naturally occurring IL-2 and shows a high stability.
Interleukin-2 plays a key role in the proliferation of T- and B-lymphocytes.
It stimulates the differentiation of B-cells, NK-cells, lamphokine-activated killer cells, monocytes, makrophages and oligodendrocytes.
Applications
The cultivation of human and murine IL-2-dependent primary T-cells, T-cell lines and NK cells.
The proliferation of mitogen-activated T-lymphocytes and NK cells.
To establish human and murine thymocyte, splenocyte or peripheral blood lymphocyte derived T-cell lines.
The generation of human and murine lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells.
